The majority of the members of the Norwegian Humanist Association are students, teachers, health and social workers and university teachers. But according to a questionnaire there are members from all layers of society - farmers and factory workers, as well as bankers and politicians.
Children cannot be members of the Norwegian Humanist Association. You have to be 15 years old to register as a member.
The Norwegian Humanist Association is most strongly represented in the Oslo area and weakest on the Northwest coast. But members of the Norwegian Humanist Association come from all over the country. Our 140 county and local subdivisions ensure that members will always find a local organization close to their home.
The Norwegian Humanist Association is the largest group outside the State Church. The number of members has grown considerably since the seventies and today count over 76,000.
