Norwegian Humanist Association
# Are you a humanist?
Many people are humanists without even knowing it.
If you are non-religious and look to science, reason, empathy, and compassion in order to live an ethical and meaningful life, you might want to join us.
# What we do
Human-Etisk Forbund (The Norwegian Humanist Association) is committed to putting humanism into practice.
Through our ceremonies, pastoral support, and campaigning work, we advance free thinking and freedom of choice so everyone can live in a fair, equal and secular society.
We also promote respect for human rights and humanist values on an international level. As a member of Humanists International we support the global humanist movement.
The Norwegian Humanist Association was established in 1956. Today, we are the largest humanist association in the world, with more than 140,000 members in this country.
# Ceremonies for you and yours
We offer humanist ceremonies all over Norway, giving you the choice of dignified and formal ceremonies from cradle to grave, regardless of where you live.
Our ceremonies have a distinct humanist profile, without elements that may be perceived to be religious practices.
